I join with some stylish sisters in showcasing our love of the maxi. Those of you who know me well, or who have followed my blog for some time, know that there is one item of clothing that I wear more than any other and that is the maxi dress.

I have about a dozen maxis; some are years old, but even when I put them into the pile for the charity shop, they never quite make it out the door.

  • Maxis are versatile: wear with flats and a denim jacket for a casual look.

  • Dress a maxi up with heels and  jewellery for a more sophisticated look.
  • Maxis are perfect for holidays. Add a pair of sandals and you are good to go.
  • No need to shave or tan your legs if you are wearing a maxi.
  • Maxis are always in fashion according to ME.
  • No need for hosiery with a maxi.

I can’t believe that it is August already. We have had wonderful sunshine in July, perfect for walks and playing golf and taking my grandson to the beach. There have been parties and dinners and meet-ups with friends. The launch of Travel Department’s 2020 brochure was a fabulous evening; maybe you saw some of the antics on my Insta stories.

They have many new locations and have also introduced specific holidays for the solo traveller.  GG and I are off to Morocco with TD Active (their adventure division) in November. This maxi will be coming with me.

We were also at a great party to celebrate the first anniversary of the re-launch of The Morgan Hotel. I wrote a review last year of our night’s stay there and highly recommend it, if you want a night or more in the city of Dublin. You also need to try the amazing cocktails.

Anyway back to the maxi. I bought mine in TK Maxx for just under €30 and it is from LA stylist Rachel Zoe label. Easy to wear, it is crease free and will travel well. I love the boho vibe and the print and have worn it lots already. It is so easy to throw on and you are good to go. You can just about see my flat antique gold Clarks sandals peeping through and I added a brown belt and my mustard yellow Zara bag.

Now see what my friends are wearing and do stop over to their blogs to find out more. You just click on their names below. You can also link up your own looks on their posts. I don’t do the link-ups yet, as I am technically challenged in that area right now and have not managed to set it up!  Here they are (from left to right):
