Hello, my friends. It was my turn to pick the theme for our ‘Style Not Age’ gang and I chose ‘April Showers’. Well, let’s face it, we have had more than our fair share of wet weather here in Ireland.
A new trench coat has been a priority for me for a while. I have two raincoats: a short white and a long maroon one, both from Primark, and they have been in constant use. So, I decided to ‘spend’ on a more interesting trench coat from Max Mara Weekend. And since purchasing it two months ago, it has hardly been off my back. So already cost per wear is impressive.
Now I am going to let you in on a secret. It is reversible. I am only showcasing one way it can be worn today, but you will see the other side soon, I promise.
I also wore this when Courtney (the stylist daughter) and I did some work with Ireland’s top Department Store Brown Thomas a while ago. And that is when I fell in love with it.
I shopped my wardrobe for the rest. The jumper is Whistles and the bag a gift from a friend. Ironically, I did not need an umbrella when GG took the photos! Though the rain was probably not far away.
And now to my friends.
Gail is definitely ready for April showers in her outfit. And how pretty she looks in blue, bringing colour to a dull day. I also love the umbrella which she purchased on Amazon. I have been looking for a sturdy brolly, one that I can see through and will not take somebody’s eye out on a crowded street. Any suggestions? Anyway check out all the details on Is This Mutton.
And Emma from Style Splash is also determined to add colour to April in her pink and lilac ensemble. I know that Emma is an expert at thrift shopping. You can find out more by popping over to her POST
Anna brought sunshine on a cloudy day with her yellow jumper and glasses. You can get a better look at that lovely jacket over on Annas Island Style.
And finally, Jacqui is wearing a trench from the ’80s. I love the addition of the blue hat and bag. Is that a smoothie? If you want to learn more, then it will all be on Mummabstylish.
Thanks for reading, my friends. I hope that you have been seeing some blue skies wherever you live. Chat soon.

Love the colour of the sleeves. Do they do a trench coat completely in that colour. It’d one of my ‘colours’ I gotmy colours one eith Maria Macklin and I’m Autumn.
I am Autumn too! I did not see one completely that colour. It is lovely.
Another perfect look. What a stunning Mac, yes you’ll get lots of use from this. Jacqui xx
Will this rain ever stop. Raining again here…..
I spotted your back when I saw this on Gail’s post and immediately thought “Max Mara” haha.
Like you I decided to spend a bit more and buy a really good-looking raincoat. That was 2 years ago in Paris. Only, “a bit more” is the proverbial understatement. It hurt my credit card.

But you will have it for ever. I am determined to buy less and buy better.
