I have a penchant for stripes; maybe I was a zebra in a different life. I particularly like dresses with stripes and am not averse to wearing them horizontally either. The dress below is not new, but I still wear it a few times every summer because it is so comfortable. The material is stretchy and the pattern flattering. I bought it in House of Fraser but there are several similar styles available.
Who doesn’t love navy and white? This dress is from Marks and Spencer and it is the type of dress that you can wear casually during the day and dress up with some heels in the evening. I particularly like the detail on the back.
I bought this striped blue shirt in Zara in June and have worn it to death as you can see from the photos below. It is probably not the most flattering item in my wardrobe, but I love it. The first photograph shows me wearing it with my white capri pants by D.E.C.K bought in Paula’s in Malahide, but stocked in many boutiques and department stores. These capri pants are the most worn item in my wardrobe this summer.
Below, you can see I wore the shirt with patterned trousers also (this high-waisted pair was bought in Dunnes Stores for €25 and is very good quality). The Carvela wedges are a few years old, and are super-comfortable, hence their re-emergence every summer.
I also found it perfect to wear over my blue bikini (Dunnes) on our recent cruise. I was a bit nervous about posting this, but it isn’t a bad photo and yes I am breathing in!
But below is the best photo of all. GG and I will be grandparents in September and here is daughter Kirsty showing off her beautiful bump in it. The shirt is cool and airy in this humid warm weather, so she has ‘borrowed’ it for now. Exciting times ahead.
So go find some stripes and unlock your inner zebra….or maybe you are a tiger!
Till next time.
