Good-bye 2017. ‘Another year over and a new one just begun’ and as well as anticipation, there is always some trepidation as to what that new year may hold.
The end of the year is also a time for reflection. In 2017, I enjoyed my time spent with family and friends and watched our grandson grow into a gorgeous, funny toddler. I walked, golfed, played bridge and wrote 58 posts on the blog.
So, for my first few posts in 2018, I will be revisiting some of them.
Maybe I should turn into a travel blogger because among the top ten of my ‘most read’ posts were my three reviews of hotels.
HARVEY’S POINT
Last January, we spent a wonderful few days in Harvey’s Point in Donegal and know why it receives such accolades. You can read my review here and see why we will be returning.
MONART SPA
At the other end of the country, we had a most relaxing and pampered stay in Monart Spa in County Wexford, and you can catch up on what I wrote here.
MOUNT WOLSELEY
We had a pleasant time in Mount Wolseley in the midlands, but it was not without its problems. Have a read here, if you are thinking of taking advantage of their very good offers.
FRANCE
A visit to Provence in France to stay with friends provided unseasonably hot weather and we were blown away by the beautiful scenery, quaint villages and excellent food. If you want to see what I mean, check my post here.
SPAIN
We also spent some time with friends in the South of Spain in October in beautiful sunshine, but I never did get to write about it. We golfed, walked and enjoyed visiting some of the local restaurants. We even spent a day on the beach.
And another day up in the mountains visiting some delightful little villages such as Zahara de la Sierra and travelling along very narrow and winding mountain roads. Luckily we had a very able driver.
PLANS
This year we plan on visiting Northern Ireland and taking plenty of staycations around the rest of the country too and in October we are heading to India, all of which will be documented here on the blog.
Happy New Year everyone. I truly appreciate all of you who read my posts and hope you continue to join me on my journey through middle age. If you know someone who might enjoy reading my blog, there is an option to get it delivered straight to your inbox by adding your email address, or you can follow on FaceBook.
In a few days, I will be sharing my posts on health and beauty which resonated most with you. Do drop by!

Oh my you’ve given me the travel bug! To be honest with all that’s going on in the world I’m a little afraid to now. Isn’t that sad? I must buck up and be braver! Love all your photos!

No I understand… You travel between your two homes anyway…
