We have had so few occasions to get dressed up in the last 6 months. My summer dresses were particularly neglected and I spent most of my time in more casual and leisure clothes.
Social occasions were mainly outdoor barbecues. And with Irish weather being so unpredictable, I always went for trousers and layers and only on a few occasions did I get dressed up. The jumpsuit below was worn when we went to Tulfarris Hotel.
With Dublin back in lockdown and restaurants closed, casual clothes are the norm and I fear that we will not be attending any celebratory gatherings for a while.
But for this challenge, I got dressed up in one of my favourite dresses from LK Bennett and added a jacket I bought in a Zara sale for €20 a few years. It still had its sale tag. My M&S off-white boots are from last year.
.
You can see the details on the jacket in the photo below and also get a closer look at the bag which I got in Folkster for my daughter’s wedding two years ago.
THE CHALLENGE
Jacqui came up with this month’s appropriate theme and she looks particularly fetching in this pink lace number. What a perfect dress for a wedding or indeed any occasion. Head over to MUMMABSTYLISH to see what Jacqui has been doing and where she purchased it.
Emma also went for lace and what a striking dress this is. There is nothing mellow about this yellow. Emma is making a statement with her striking dress and accessories. You can find out more on THE STYLE SPLASH
Anna is frolicking in her natural habitat with a magnificent iridescent coat. Now that coat would not look out of place at an awards ceremony like The Oscars. Find out where she got it by heading over to ANNA’S ISLAND STYLE.
And Gail is pretending she is off to a real work meeting, as opposed to the zoom meetings that are more common now. Watch out, she looks like she means business! I will be heading over to IS THIS MUTTON to find out more about this outfit and that interesting skirt.
We enjoy our monthly challenges and hope that you like our dressing up collaboration this month. I doubt that this dress would have been worn otherwise. If you missed last month you can catch up HERE.
Stay safe everyone and try to stay positive. It is not easy in our current crisis.
HUGS.
Gorgeous dress Hilda, and I love those lace up boots, they’re very on trend!

Thanks Emma. And the boots are really comfy too.
Love the dress, but your jacket is to die for! I can see why you fell for that. Pleased with how everyone tackled this challenge and can’t wait for us all to be wearing our Sunday Best for real x
I love dressing up to go out to a restaurant or a dinner party. It is difficult to see beyond the present, back to a different life, particularly as we head into colder weather.
Wow, I love the jacket even more now that I can see that detail on the sleeves. And clever of you to tie those in with the handbag too! You clearly had great fun putting this outfit together. Thank goodness we have these monthly challenges to give us the chance to dress up differently eh? You look totally fab x
It is keeping me going to be honest. I do make an effort going to the dentist and shopping too. Not doing much else…. Thanks Anna xx
What a fun read. I enjoyed looking at all the unique styles. I especially liked you boots and white jacket with the appliqués.
Fun to see what Ireland is up to!
Happy Saturday
The boots are back in Marks & Spencer this year and in black too.
Hilda,
I love everyone’s outfits and can’t wait until we are all getting dressed up and going out regularly again!
You and me both Rosemary. Might be a while I think.xx
All you lovely ladies look so pretty all dressed up. I miss dressing up so much. The white boots really caught my eye! I adore boots. They are always a staple in my closet.
Isabella. Thank you so much. They add an edgy look to many outfits.
