Choosing your favourite handbag is like saying you have a favourite child. So, there will be no ‘handbags at dawn’ here! I love them all!
I love a crossbody if I am shopping. I like a clutch for a dressier event, though I do have a clutch with a strap which I also use for shopping.
But if I am travelling anywhere, I must have a tote. I always bring a tote on holidays. So if I was a handbag, I would be a tote. It must be big enough to carry my laptop, my phone, a book or magazine and my make-up. I don’t know what that says about me!
Today, I am featuring a tote (borrowed) from Irish designer Julie Peelo. You can check out her gorgeous designs at www.peelo.ie. My lovely cognac clutch with strap (above) is also a Peelo design.
PEELO TOTE
The Kelly Green leather tote was my choice, but there are plenty of other colours, including a vibrant orange.
I love the simple design as the colour is the statement. Kelly green is so vibrant. And the size is perfect for carrying all I need although I have to remember not to overstuff my bag! Also important is that it has a magnetic closure so the contents are safe. Don’t you like the subtle logo too?
It has lovely strong handles and is comfortable to carry. So there you have it If I was a handbag, I would be this Kelly Green tote.
You can follow Julie on Instagram at iampeelo and on Facebook. Julie has worked in many areas in fashion and with some of the top designers in the world. Her interest in handbags and accessories began when she was was in Marni, one of the top Italian fashion houses.
I am in awe of this mum of three young children following her dream and starting her own business just over two years ago.
No need to tell you about my outfit as I shopped my wardrobe. All items are years old.
STYLE NOT AGE
And now to my friends. Anna gave us the prompt this month and I was not surprised to see her statement handbag. Look at the colours, the fringing. You can find out where she bagged that beauty in annasislandstyle.
Next is Jacqui who is featuring a black handbag which she loves because of its numerous pockets. Her boots complement the bag beautifully and how pretty is that baby blue jumper. Pop over to mummabstylish to learn more.
And now to Gail who is showcasing a Christmas present. How fabulous is this red bowls bag and I love how she has styled her outfit with all red accessories. Gail will tell you more over at Is This Mutton.
Finally, Emma is only giving us a peep of her vibrant bag. I can see how she has taken inspiration from its colours in her outfit. If you want to see more too, you will need to check out Emma’s blog post on The Style Splash.
So what do you think our choice of handbags says about us? Any handbag psychologists out there?

Now that’s my sort of bag – big, but uber stylish, a real statement bag! I have already been perusing the website….
Julie worked with some of the top designers in the world. I love them all….
It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day, and the gorgeous Kelly Green tote will be the optimal accessory for celebrations. It’s quite striking with the all-black outfit as a backdrop.
