Is it possible to tighten the jawline and have some of the effects of a facelift without having surgery?  The answer is Yes.  I have been lucky enough to have been gifted some treatments at Jeanne Brophy’s salon in Clontarf and I am delighted with the results.

You may have read my post on the Dermalux treatment that I had a few months ago at Jeanne Brophy’s salon. Known as The Red Carpet Facial,  I was treated to one the morning of my appearance on Dr. Eva Orsmond’s programme ‘How to Live Better For Longer’, which was aired on RTE1 in May. (I’m pictured below on the RTE set with Eileen Smith, the 80-year old Instagramming Style Queen.)

Thank you for the lovely messages commenting on how well I looked.  I, too, was delighted. When I watched the programme, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I looked less lined than usual and firmer around the jawline, which was my particular concern.

It was due to both the Red Carpet Facial and my ongoing Endymed treatments at Jeanne Brophy’s Salon.

Endymed is a radio frequency treatment where heat from a hand-held device is used by the therapist to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin (working within the epidermis and the dermis) to tighten the skin. You can read more about it HERE.

The light is completely different in the above photos, I presume, because the sun had moved in the hour I was there. The treatment was completely painless and there was a very slight redness which was gone in about half an hour. I had three treatments, each one a month apart and, as I said, I definitely see a big improvement in my jawline and around the eyes and mouth.

The treatment takes between 30-45 mins and it is recommended you take a course.

Are you looking to lift and tighten the contours of your skin without going under the knife?

Then Endymed is certainly one option.

Jeanne Brophy’s process with treatments is to create tailor-made facial and home care plans for the specific concerns of her clients. She has never believed in one-size-fits-all skincare and has also chosen to mix skincare ranges and machines to get the best results for her clients. These bespoke facials can be anything between €150 and €250 depending on what you and your therapist agree on.

I love a pampering facial, but I need something a little more clinical to tighten up that jawline and increase collagen and elastin in the skin. I will be returning to Jeanne Brophy for more treatments as a paying customer.

I did not pay for my original treatments, but as always I give an honest review. I do not review treatments or products that do not work for me. They may work for others, as our skin concerns are all different.  That is why it is good (if you can afford it) to visit a reputable aesthetician or facialist to get expert advice on the best lotions, potions and treatments for your particular skin type. It will be money well spent.
