I am always shocked (well, disappointed maybe!) when I look in the mirror and see my face – it’s not bad, as faces go, it’s just that I seem to think I should still look like the photos hanging on the wall that were taken nearly 20 years ago. The sagging jawline is always traumatic and a sad reminder of times past!
When I took a ‘No Make-Up Selfie’ last year, I lay on the bed to do it. It’s amazing how much younger you look when you are in that position!
I am determined to grow older both gracefully and disgracefully. I will embrace my wrinkles yet I will do what I can to fight the ravages of time and prevent them from taking over my face completely.
In my much younger days, I lay in the sun for hours, lathered in baby oil in search of the golden tan. Since then, I’ve learned to be much more careful about sun protection and use make-up with an in-built sun factor all year round. In summer, I use La Roche-Posay ‘Tinted Moisturiser 50+’, particularly when out walking or playing golf as it gives excellent coverage and protection.
I have a pretty good beauty regime which I will be sharing with you, and a few secrets too, but I am always open to new ideas and to recommendations from others.
So magic potions and creams, tricks and anything short of the knife will be dealt with here. I’ll also be calling on my friends to give up their beauty secrets!
Let’s stay as young as we feel!
