Spring Sweaters with ‘Style Not Age’

Another month nearly over. And we have the perfect prompt of ‘Spring Sweaters’ from Anna for our ‘Style Not Age’ feature this month.

There may have been a lot of sunshine but there is still a chilly wind most days. While I have ditched the heavy winter coats, I still need to keep warm.

No matter how warm it is elsewhere, Malahide can often be a few degrees lower because of the onshore winds. So it is perfect Spring sweater weather.

I shopped my wardrobe for all of this look. The sweater/jumper is old from Zara.  I love stripes and there are pretty buttons on the sleeves, which caught my eye when I purchased it about two years ago. Do stripes ever go out of fashion anyway?

In fact, this is a High Street look from head to toe. The trousers are Top Shop, boots M&S and hat H&M.  Hats have been my go-to accessory this year. I wear them out walking for sun protection, but also to cover the grey roots. In Ireland, we are waiting to hear when our hair salons will open. It will be six months since my last visit, I reckon.

Below, I tried a blue hat when I was heading to do some grocery shopping and I added my very old DKNY bag to the ensemble. I had to find a tree full of blossom on the way.

EMMA

Sporting a lovely short-sleeved spring sweater with a beautiful beaded collar, Emma has paired it with lime green trousers for a season-appropriate colour combination.  I love how Emma accessorises her outfits and this strawberry print bag adds a touch of fun to the Spring outfit. If you want to find out where she picks up all these beautiful pieces, step across to The Style Splash.

GAIL

I envy Gail who has a complete new hair style to celebrate the easing of restrictions in England. The pixie cut suits her so well. She told me she was glad to have her “spring sweater” because of the easterly wind. Her sweater is actually a mohair-mix cardigan, bought from @Devoted_to_style on Instagram.  Head over to Is this Mutton to learn about the rest of her outfit.

ANNA

Anna’s sweater is a vintage Laura Ashley number, found in a charity shop a couple years ago, along with flower sprigged pre-loved jeans and Sketchers trainers.

Anna from The Scilly Isles said “Still sunny here, but that easterly wind is pretty ferocious so you definitely need a sweater!”  Pop across to annasislandstyle to see more of what Anna has been up to and see gorgeous pics of where she lives.

JACQUI

Jacqui is wearing one of my favourite colours. She has a bright orange sweater from Phase Eight and I love her (newish) long white boots too. I might have to find some boots like those.  You can find Jacqui’s post on Mummabstylish.

Soon it will be May and hopefully Ireland will begin to open up. We are all mightily sick of it now. Graham had his first Astra Zeneca shot on Saturday and it will be my turn soon. Like most people I am trying to stay positive. We are returning to casual golf this week, so that is good.

Enjoy the little things my friends.

Love your images Hilda and the outfit deserves a big round of applause. I love all the details, the stripe on the trousers, the laces on the boots, the buttons on the sleeves. You really aced it with your trademark hat.
