‘Style Not Age’ time again and this month the prompt is ‘Maxi Madness’. It was my turn to choose and I must admit I was keen to showcase a rather colourful mad maxi-skirt that I bought in a local boutique Studio 124.
I wore it on our anniversary when we spent a night in The Powerscourt Hotel in County Wicklow. And I have worn it several times since but did not manage to get any more photos. Graham/GG can be a little hit-and-miss with the pics and is always keen to get out of the house. Let me say taking photos is not a top priority for him!
Anyway, our night in The Powerscourt Hotel was really fabulous. We were upgraded to a suite which had a huge balcony and the view over the gardens to the mountains was really beautiful. Dinner was excellent and breakfast on the terrace the following morning was perfect.
Back to the maxi. It has rather striking images/photographs of different places in the world.
And I really love the colours which means I can wear it with a variety of tops. This time, I chose to wear an off-the-shoulder, Whistles black top (years old) and white shoes from Asos, a present from the stylist daughter. I have also worn it with a soft white summer top and with a blue tee shirt when I was going for a more casual vibe.
.
And now to my friends:
JACQUI
Jacqui looks amazing in a dress she borrowed from her daughter and she claims that the madness part is that she fitted into it, as it is a size 10. I love the ‘boho’ vibe with the floppy hat. And what about the setting. Isn’t it perfect? You need to head over to MummaBStylish to find out what Jacqui has been doing. I know that she is enjoying a holiday in Cyprus at the moment.
GAIL
Gail has gone all-green goddess in this divine dress, which she has had for years and never worn. I have to ask why! Madness, if you ask me! Pop on over to Is This Mutton to see why Gail has kept it hidden away. She also wrote a recent blog post on her wardrobe which is very interesting. Do you have a wardrobe of clothes that have never been worn? Gail has!
EMMA
And Emma has a ’70s vibe going in her outfit. The fashion then was considered to be mad with its crazy prints and loud colours. I absolutely love it. And Emma wears it so well. You can find out more on The Style Splash.
ANNA
Anna is wearing a striking colour combination of pink and orange. And that once-upon-a-time would have been considered madness! Now we say, bring it on! Head over to Anna’s Island Style to see what has been happening in Anna’s life.
So I guess that is the last you will see of our summer clothes until next year. We will be showcasing a more autumnal tone next month. I, for one, love getting out my boots and jumpers and warmer clothes. What about you?
Thanks for reading.

You all look so very colorful and stylish in your summer attire! 🥂
Thanks Paula and today is beautiful too so getting the most out of the lighter clothes.
I had to laugh about photos being a low priority for GG. It’s the same for Mr Mutton. Love the skirt, how fabulous to stay at a swish hotel. Great challenge!
I try bribery sometimes, but the best are when my daughter takes the pics…
What a fun challenge you set for us Hilda, thanks so much for giving it to us. Looking lovely in your maxi skirt. Jacqui

Your skirt is absolutely fab Hilda! I’d like to see it worn with a polo neck sweater and boots in the autumn… Hurrah for another successful challenge – great theme!
