How do we know what products to use when there is such a plethora of brands out there and so many different products. I rely on the experts to help me. And I am lucky to get sent products to try out.
I can tell you what suits my skin and what works for me.
Ultraceuticals made a huge difference to my skin and I used it for 4 months. I was very lucky to get the expert advice of Michelle and also several treatments which left my skin in incredible condition.
Now that I have finished using them I am trying out some new hydrating products that help plump up your skin.
LANCOME RENERGIE HCF TRIPLE SERUM
This is my new miracle serum. Have any of you tried it? My late mother-in-law loved Lancome products but it is only in the past year or two that I have really tried them.
The blurb says that this serum works on the visible effects of ageing: wrinkles, dark spots and skin laxity.
It includes three potent active ingredients that are difficult to combine in a single product – Hyaluronic acid, Ferulic Acid and Vitamin C with Niacinamide.
So to overcome that problem, each active ingredient is housed in separate chambers within the bottle.
My skin feels smoother and is more hydrated. I have not been able to use retinol for a few weeks and this has been a life-saver. Highly recommended and would be my favourite of these hydrating products.
L’OREAL MIDNIGHT SERUM
My sister Rosie (6 years younger) has been using L’Oreal which works beautifully for her and has definitely improved her hydration levels. She has been trialling this Midnight Serum among others. It is non-sticky and is perfect to apply before bed. It delivers an intense dose of moisture to hydrate and plump-up the skin. Along with the other L’Oreal products that she is using (e.g.Renew Night Cream) her skin is definitely brighter and lines are softer. So it is a win for this from the Sis!
ELLA & JO THE MIRACLE MASK
An Irish brand that has been making waves since its inception is Ella & Jo. Most recently, they have added a Miracle Mask to their arsenal. As I write this, my face is being treated to a ‘lotta’ love with it. It gives my skin a real hydration boost, particularly before a night out, and you will be glowing after using it.
Remember, skincare is personal and the best thing you can do is to get help from a professional. And there is something to suit everyone’s pocket. Cera Ve, for instance, is one of the best budget skincare brands and is excellent for sensitive skin too. Have you tried any of these? What do you think?

Thanks for reading.

All good recommendations! I’m glad to that Lancome doesn’t scent their skincare products as much like they used to. Sadly, we don’t get Irish skincare products very often in the US, but I bet they’re lovely. I agree with you about CeraVe
NO I HAVE NOT TRIED ANY OF THESE PRODUCTS.
I DO NEED A MASK OR SCRUB HOWEVER SO MAYBE I SHALL HOP ON A JET PLANE TO IRELAND TO PICK THAT LAST BLUE TUBE UP!
I HAVE NOT BEEN SO GOOD TO MY SKIN THESE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS…….NO ENERGY.
TIME TO START APPLYING AND POURING THE CREAMS ON……..

You have been so unwell. I am surprised you have the energy to write this. xx
I have not used any of these and would be tempted with the l’Oreal. An Australian friend who is a beauty therapist swears by Ultraceuticals and I know them. I suppose the Irish products would be available in France.
Ella & Jo will ship to France. Ultraceuticals products are definitely top notch.
I have had very successful luck with Cera Ve. I have sensitive skin and it works perfectly for me.
Yes it is excellent.
Sound great Hilda, I’m needing some new products I think, thanks for sharing. Jacqui x
I haven’t tried them but will now! Thanks for the recommendations, Hilda.

I’m going to have to look these up. My mom loves Lancome, and I was using their foundation, but mine dissapeared. I like the sound of these serum, and its nice to treat your skin to some hydrating products especially in the winter.
thanks for linking!
