The challenge of Denim for our March ‘Style Not Age’ gang had me literally climbing the walls. I have two old summer denim jackets and I was not allowed to showcase denim jeans. So, I searched for a skirt or dress in local shops. There was nothing. Eventually, I found this over-sized jacket in Primark. In Ireland, we still call it PENNEYS! It was a last minute rush for the photos so I am afraid I cheated and did double denim. Nothing else looked right and I was not putting on a summer dress, yet.
I have to admit that once my daughter had taken the photos, I brought it back. I knew it would stay in the back of the wardrobe and never see the light of day again. Don’t get me wrong, the jacket is fabulous, it is just oversized denim is not me.
The jeans are old from local boutique Paula’s and boots from another local boutique Fi&Co. Sunglasses are borrowed from my daughter to give a different vibe.
MUMMA B STYLISH
Jacqui found her denim maxi on Ebay after a long search every night for a week! It’s from New Look and is now sold out, so naturally she is delighted. Teamed with a really old blouse from M&S, she added tan accents with slouch boots, belt and little shoulder bag bought in Venice. Great styling, Jacqui. And you can find Jacqui over at MUMMA B STYLISH.
ANNA’ S ISLAND STYLE
Anna was a bit stumped until she remembered this denim jacket hidden at the back of her wardrobe. She dressed it with brooches quite a few years ago and that’s how it stayed. Anna is great at upcycling. Trousers and white cowboy boots are both from Topshop and sweater is old from Primark. I love the styling, Anna. Check her out at ANNA’S ISLAND STYLE.
IS THIS MUTTON
Now, I wish I had found Gail’s denim dress which is from Asos. I love the style, the pockets and how she has accessorised it with white boots and orange belt from Kettlewell. Gail has lost her much-loved cat recently, so pop over to IS THIS MUTTON and see how she is doing.
THE STYLE SPLASH
Emma is wearing a vintage ’80s batwing denim dress that she bought on eBay during lockdown. Her silver sparkly boots are from New Look, a clutch bag by Rodo and a cocktail ring bought in a charity shop. Loving the hair, Emma. Have a look at what Emma has been doing over on THE STYLE SPLASH.
Can you believe it is nearly April? It is lovely to see the buds on the trees and the cherry blossoms out. I love taking photos of the signs of Spring.
Thank you for reading. I will be back next week with a review of our few days in Berlin.

It is great to be able to bring home, try on and then return if it is not right. I knew I would not be keeping it! No this is Penneys… now Primark… gradually taking over the world. Spring is Springing here. Isn’t the weather mad at the moment? Hugs xx
I do love the jacket and it’s a shame you had to return it! I understand that there’s no point keeping it for ‘just in case’ times. Thanks for sharing our looks Hilda. x Jacqui
As always love the challenges. xx
You always look wonderful but I have to admit that jacket was not good. You were right to return it! Looking forward to your next Spring outfit. Xx
Thanks Hilary..trying to be sensible…
Haha, I love your honesty Hilda! I guess the skirts and dresses are super popular!

Thank you Katherine x
I think you really rock this look Hilda, but you’re right to trust your gut – no need to add to your clothes collection if you know you won’t wear it again x
