Anna chose this month’s theme of ‘Frilled to Bits’ and that is exactly what we are, now that summer seems to be here at last. I am doubly excited because it has coincided with the delivery of the dress (below) which perfectly fits the challenge.
When asked to contribute to a feature on fashion in Good Housekeeping (online) in collaboration with JD Williams, the online emporium. I readily accepted. Then I had the difficult job of choosing what I would wear from their summer collection. In return, they kindly sent me a dress and a jumpsuit. I wrote about this last week on my FB page but here it is again in case you missed it.
JD Williams has been to the forefront in choosing older women to take part in their campaigns. In fact, OUR Anna of ANNASISLANDSTYLE was a model a few years ago in their print and TV campaigns.
Anyway, back to the challenge ‘Frilled to Bits’. So this Whistles dress was perfect. I am not the best at buying online but I do have several Whistles dresses in my wardrobe and they fit well. And this dress fits perfectly also.
I got dressed in it purely for the challenge. However, I do have several events coming up soon and I cannot wait to wear it.
The bag (below) I borrowed from my daughter’s closet. Isn’t the colour perfect?
The back of the dress is equally stunning.
ANNA
Now to Anna, who has recently started dressmaking.
Here she is proudly showing off her homemade petticoat along with a vintage blouse and skirt plus her new summer cowboy boots in pink and orange from ASOS. Pop on over to ANNASISLANDSTYLE to learn more.
JACQUI
Jacqui is wearing a recent addition to her wardrobe from Izabel Clothing. It’s a wrap dress with frills all down the front and round the hem of the maxi. She loves their dresses and this one might be a contender for the wedding she is attending next week. Check out the green accessories. Jacqui can be found over at MUMMABSTYLISH.
GAIL
Gail looks fabulous in her shirt and cropped trousers combo. I love that blouse which she found on e-bay. The colour is amazing and she does look ‘frilled to bits’. You can learn more on ISTHISMUTTON.
EMMA
Finally, Emma bought her top on her latest trip to Funchal. It’s from her favourite shop there called Dona Hortensia. The trousers and top are from Monki. Her vegan leather bag is by Fenella Smith. And where can you find out more about Emma? Yes, over on her blog STYLE SPLASH.
So that is it for another month. Thank you for reading as always.
