Festival Finery is Emma’s choice for July. And, of course, summer is festival season. I am thinking of music festivals, flower festivals, literature festivals and so on. I have actually been to two fabulous concerts locally in June, but was more concerned about keeping dry and warm than dressing in any festival finery.
So what is festival finery? I took a loose interpretation and decided I was going incognito to a garden festival. On with the bucket hat from H&M and sunnies from TK Maxx (recent purchases). Bag is my daughter’s from Irish designer Landa. And the festival was my front garden.
I shopped my wardrobe for the rest. Comfort is, of course, key for any festival.
‘STYLE NOT AGE’ FRIENDS
Speaking of comfort, how perfect is Emma’s pink, leopard-print denim boiler suit? I can definitely see her at Glastonbury in that outfit. Emma recently turned 50; she is the baby of our group. Happy birthday, Lovely. Check her out on The Style Splash.
Gail has the perfect backdrop. It was taken at one of the BST Hyde Park events, the Kylie Minogue concert. There are several stages with different acts, and it lasts a month, so counts as a festival in her book. And she looks very comfy in her jeans and denim jacket with colourful accessories. I love the peep of red socks with the blue boots. You can find Gail by clicking on Is this Mutton.
Jacqui looks pensive in her beautiful dress standing in a recently cut field on a rare summer’s day. Look at that blue sky. Jacqui could be at a local agricultural show or festival with that setting. Festival finery for sure. Find out Jacqui’s backstory over on Mummabstylish.
Anna is the knockout winner in her fabulous outfit at her local fete. I love every element from the flower hairband to the floral themed sandals. Yes Anna, you nailed it! Pop over to Anna’s Island Style to see where she picked up those pieces.
We have been promised better weather in Ireland, perhaps even a heatwave. So maybe I can get to wear some of my summer dresses.
Thank you for reading as always.

I’ll join you at your garden festival. Love the skirt! Fun interpretation.
Thanks Hilda, what a fab prompt this was and we all tackled it so differently. Nice to see this stunning skirt too. Jacqui x
Hi, Hilda – Love these looks! A festival is a great time to get really creative and go all out. Thanks for sharing how women of any age can enjoy comfort and style at a festival – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
We just went to a festival a few weeks ago. I was wearing boring jeans, lol. Your look is so much better!
I absolutely love this skirt Hilda! Such a stylish outfit. Thanks for linking!
