‘Style Not Age’ are ‘Frill Seekers’

‘Style Not Age’ are ‘Frill Seekers’

‘Frill Seekers’ is the challenge for our ‘Style not Age’ group this month and I must admit that I found it a challenge. When it comes to frills, I am quite muted. Let’s face it, frills add bulk, so they can be difficult to wear.

I tend to keep frills to a minimum in a shirt or top and only wear them on the shoulders or arms and never across the bust area because of this. Yes, I am well endowed here and don’t want to look top heavy!

Of course, the material also plays a part and the softer the material the more flattering the frill, so therefore easier to wear.

I had this cold shoulder jumper from Coast in my wardrobe (bought in the sale last March for a song) and this is the first chance I have had to wear it.  I like the double frill and, of course, there is a huge focus on arm details these past few seasons. But the problem with cold shoulder tops is that there is only a short window of time when they can be worn.  In other words, it cannot be too cold!

Paired with my striped trousers from Marc Cain Malahide (also a sales purchase) and my Vince Camuto shoes from Arnotts  (yes, sale too), I wore them out to a late lunch with friends at Clontarf Castle Dublin and then for the supermarket shopping afterwards.

The weather was gorgeous that day, so after lunch we wandered outside for a few pics.

Below you can see that my New Look bag with leopard print details had yet another outing (this was part of my Marshes Shopping Centre ‘Haul of Fame’ Promotion) and I also added a scarf as a hair band and brown animal print sunglasses. No, I am not getting over this animal print obsession anytime soon!

Anna

Anna looks fantastic in her frilly shirt, topped with a  beautiful waistcoat. She does look as if she is in a precarious position on the rocks, however.

Emma

How wonderful does Emma look in her red frills, paired with a stunning blazer, trousers and accessorised with more red.

Jacqui opted for red too and is wearing a very pretty wrap-around red dress with the frill detail to the front. Drop by my friends’ blogs to find out more by clicking on their names. And of course, you can follow them all on Instagram too.

I’m pleased that you commented about my precarious position on the rocks – I was trying hard to look like a Frill Seeker! Boo-boom! The frilled jumper looks lovely on you and I can’t believe you’ve not worn it before – I think it’s very feminine and suits your shape well. And yes, I can see your passion for animal print isn’t waning, but hey if you love it that’s all that matters sweetie!

You were the only one, Anna to take the thrill seeker aspect. I had thought about it, but could not think what to do. I might have fallen off that seat!
Yes no chance of me getting fed up of animal print any time soon…. xxx
