Good morning. My last blog post is all about looking the best you can for your age. It is about taking care of your skin, boosting collagen and elastin with customised treatments and products. I make no apology for trying to look good for my age. I have written plenty about how I take care of my skin, eat pretty well and enjoy my life.
When I was young, I escaped into a fantasy world through reading. I particularly loved books about boarding school. Aged eleven, I won a scholarship to a school in Dublin and loved every minute of it, returning to that same school to teach for 35 years. I loved teaching and the young people I met along the way kept me connected and young at heart.
Stress
But juggling marriage, children and a career were not always easy, especially when you were trying to be Superwoman! I was constantly chasing my tail and did suffer from stress, particularly in my final few years when I had taken on an additional role in the school. But I survived (how I managed to do so is probably worth another blog post) and now I feel I am living my best life, having retired from teaching and sharing my experiences online with the world. Well, OK, not The World , but you my readers.
I have embraced this new middle age with gusto, perhaps not with as much energy as I used to have, but with plenty of enthusiasm.
Embracing yourself isn’t always easy, especially when you might feel a constant pressure to meet the expectations of others.
