Ella & Jo Cosmetics – Affordable and Effective Irish Products

ELLA & JO ‘LIMITED EDITION’ ORANGE BLOSSOM HYALURONIC  SKIN MIST

Do you use a facial mist? It has been a necessary addition to my beauty routine for years, particularly so as my skin ages.  I use it to prep before make-up and to refresh my skin.  When I was sent a bottle of Ella & Jo Orange Blossom Hyaluronic Skin Mist Spray (€25) a few months ago, I was immediately hooked.

Ella & Jo Hydrating Skin Mist

I love the extracts of Orange Blossom which gives it a really fresh fragrance. It is packed full of goodness too. Ingredients like chamomile, cucumber, witch hazel, aloe vera and green tea and the hero hyaluronic acid help hydrate, condition and protect the skin.  Amittedly, I am addicted and I know if you try it you will become addicted too. €25

ELLA & JO COSMETICS HYDRATING HYALURONIC SERUM

Serums are part of most of our beauty routines and I have several favourites. I love Simone Mahler (Elaine at Bespoke Beauty introduced me to the brand) and Seavite whose serum is particularly gentle and calming with its inclusion of extracts of seaweed.

I buy some and am sent others, but only write about those I like. This Ella & Jo serum (€40) was launched earlier this year and I was included in the press drop. I love the texture; it is light and quickly absorbed.  Yes, it is hydrating on my older skin and hopefully helps promote the collagen and elastin that has sadly depleted over the years.

Ella & Jo Hyaluronic Hydrating Serum

How does it do this?

Supercharged with powerful collagen boosting and hydrating ingredients (such as a green tea antioxidant, jasmine oil and niacinamide), it aims to increase skin firmness, whilst soothing and moisturising. The most interesting of these ingredients is Matrixyl 3000, which has had a lot of press recently.

‘Matrixyl 3000 is an anti-aging peptide comprised of two proteins. It is used to target a wide range of aging signs, which helps your skin look and act more youthful. To diminish the signs of aging, it promotes the production of collagen and elastin in the under-layers of skin. The Hyaluronic acid acts as a delivery system, allowing the Matrixyl to penetrate deeper beneath the skin’s surface and provides a radiant, plumping boost of hydration.’

SQUEAKY CLEAN BRUSH  CLEANSER

Ella &Jo Squeaky Clean Brush Cleanser

Did you know that your dirty make-up brush contains more bacteria than your average toilet seat? Disgusting right? And we use our make up brushes daily on our FACES.

But cleaning those brushes is a huge chore and if you are like me you are lazy about it. It is such a chore and it takes so long for those brushes to dry Well worry no more.

This Squeaky Clean Brush Cleanser (€20) is a handy, easy-to-use cleanser which also has a lovely orange blossom fragrance. It will clean, disinfect and condition your brushes and they are ready to use again in a few minutes. And of course doing that helps to keep your skin free from bacteria. Win win…

Finally if I have not convinced you already, Ella & Jo is an Irish company, founded by Charlene Flanagan and Niamh Ryan and their products are excellent. And now more than ever it is the time to support Irish when we can.  I have a feeling they are only getting started. You can find out more by checking out their website HERE.

Forgot to post this pic from a few months ago, tak Forgot to post this pic from a few months ago, taken when we could go further than 5k. Wearing all Zara except for old @carl_scarpa boots. How are you coping with the present lockdown? I am reading lots and watching telly and walking. I sympathise with those of you who are homeschooling and trying to work. Not easy. But we are nearly there. Stay strong.

New Year Resolutions are not for me. I just love New Year Resolutions are not for me.
I just love the life I live. Of course I am worried about the Pandemic. Who isn't?
But even though I cannot meet friends, eat out or do many of the 'normal' activities I used to do, I can still walk and enjoy the lovely place I live. Pop over to the blog to see my farewell to 2020.

the number of breaths we take, but
the moments that take our breaths away.'

Happy New Year from Graham and me. A different New Happy New Year from Graham and me. A different New Year's Eve for certain. We are sitting at home watching the telly. But welcoming in 2021 with open arms and hoping that in a few months we can return to a more normal life.

While 2020 was tough, it also made me appreciate (even more) the beautiful place where I live.

2020 also had its highlights: our third grandson arrived a few weeks ago!

Stay positive my friends. Stay safe and
 thank you for your support.

Liposomal Vitamin C is all the rage becuse it promises optimal absorption. It is all quite scientific. I am not so good at online shopping. Bought runners online in the size I normally get in that brand and they had to go back. Anyone else with the same problem?

🪥 My new stylish electric toothbrush (gifted) h 🪥 My new stylish electric toothbrush (gifted) has Ionic Brushing Superpowers!

🪥Sounds impressive? It is!

🪥But do not ask me to explain it.Check out @ion.sei for all the science stuff. And learn about the innovative technology used in this German manufactured and Japanese inspired toothbrush.

🪥It has to do with a UV LED light, a titanium bar and negative ions. But it is rather complicated and I am not a science geek.

🪥What I know is that my teeth and gums feel cleaner and are cleaner. Because it actually prevents plaque from forming.

🪥Easy to use (there are 3 brushing modes) and gentle on gums, it turns off after 2 minutes. And delivers minimum 36,000 strokes in that time!!
