Happy New Year.
I have been so lacking in energy, mojo, initiative (call it what you like..) to actually get up off my butt and write a post. Well, I suppose I would have to sit down to write it. But you know what I mean.
Anyway, I think I have got my act together. So Happy New Year to one and all.
I am feeling more positive that we might be finally seeing an end to this PANDEMIC. What do you think? No matter what happens, we have to get on with living our lives.
Regular readers will know that I have had an upper respiratory infection since mid-November and I feel it is finally nearly gone. I am back walking again and have my energy back. Below, you can see that we have had some gorgeous weather recently.
So to kick off the New Year I am going to share my most popular posts of last year…2021
We had just welcomed our most recent grandson Zen in December 2020 and had spent Christmas Day with our family. Then, of course, we went into another lockdown. But Graham and I coped well enough; it was vert much a case of wait and see what happens as we went from one lockdown to another. We were very reluctant to make any plans until we got our vaccinations. The summer was ok and we socialised outside a lot. Golf took a back seat as my back was acting up. Eventually I got treatment and was so pleased to be able to walk pain-free again.
HEALTH POSTS
My posts on health are amongst those which engage the biggest audience. I suppose you don’t reach your 60s without some issues.
Then in February I had a Transient Global Amnesia EPISODE. I do not remember it but it was very frightening for my family. However, it was my most popular post last year and I was amazed by the response.
I also did a follow-up post which also reached a wide audience.
My reluctance to take statins and my high cholesterol brought a varied response. I will be doing a follow-up later this year.
Finally, my involvement in World Osteoporosis Day was very important to me as my Mum has osteoporosis and I was diagnosed with osteopenia in 2016.
I have ongoing problems with my back, which really gave me problems this year. I played very little golf. In fact, I think each hole probably cost me €100.
RECOMMENDED BOOKS
Reading is such a pleasure and a way to wind down and to escape into other worlds.
You can read some of my favourites HERE
BEAUTY POSTS
I actually did a review of my favourite products at the end of last month.
And I have lots of new products to try as well. But you know how slow I am at this. I like to take my time and if I like a product, I use it until it is finished.
BREAKS AWAY
We stayed in The Merrion Hotel Dublin for a night last June.
and we were lucky enough to get to spend some time in Spain in September and in Portugal in November.
FASHION POSTS
I really enjoy my collaboration with my ‘Style Not Age’ gang. My favourite two posts last year featured in March and May.
So goodbye to 2021 and hello 2022.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for the support. Happy New Year to you all.
Love Hilda x
Hello Hilda! Happy New Year to you as well. I’m happy to hear you’re feeling better. More people were diagnosed, today, in the US than since Covid started. Unless the medical community comes up with something to nip this in the bud, you’re right about needing to find a way to live with it. So far, except for walking Annie, I’m a hermit. xoxox, Brenda
We are still in a lockdow here and hoping that by the time it will be spring everything will be as good as normal. We are all so tired of it aren’t we! Happy weekend!
