I decided to focus on orange, as you can see. Orange in all its hues is absolutely one of my favourite colours and I love its vibrancy. It makes me think of sunshine and sunflowers. Combining the energy of red and the vibrancy of yellow, it is a positive and uplifting colour associated with energy and happiness. I definitely have a passion for orange.
I borrowed the amazing leather tote for this pic (above) from my friend Kevina. You have seen me write about the Malahide-based designer Julie Peelo before. You can check out her instagram page @iampeelo or her website www.peelo.ie
I was running out of time to get photos for this post, so I combined the post’s needs with visiting friends in their penthouse. I need some photos, I said when we arrived. But the weather did not play ball. I nearly took off across Dublin Bay.
Anyway, it was good fun and there was some nice light also.
Everything I am wearing is over 6 years old. The dress and shoes, Hugo Boss and Clarks respectively, were bought in 2015 and the Zara kimono a year later. And I forgot to bring my orange sunglasses which would have completed the look. And, yes, I know I did not need them!
STYLE NOT AGE
So let us look at my friends.
Gail is striking quite a pose here. Her stripey t-shirt is actually called Tutti Frutti and is from Kettlewell Colours; it’s new but everything else is shopped from her wardrobe. Gail has written many interesting posts on her colour palette and how wearing the right colours for you is so important. You can read all about it and learn about her Tutti Frutti outfit over on Is This Mutton.
I have also had my colours analysed with Maria Macklin and found it really helpful. You can read more HERE.
Jacqui borrowed her colourful dress from her daughter. I love how she has complemented her dress with an orange bag and tie-up shoes that are a fabulous shade of green. Green earrings complete her Tutti Frutti outfit. Pop over to Mumma Be Stylish to see what Jacqui has been doing.
Emma chose the prompt this month. And look how well she has interpreted the theme with her peach motifs. Both her shirt and bag are by Fabienne Chapot. She has several pieces from this peach print range, including two dresses and a skirt! The lovely green trousers are by Flounce London (from Asos) and sunglasses are SkinnyDip London. Read more on Style Splash.
Anna’s Tutti Frutti is a riot of colour. She shopped her wardrobe for the look. Look at that vintage Jaeger skirt. I love the TK Maxx top and those pink boots from H&M. It’s a joyful outfit on a beautiful summer’s afternoon, unlike what I am looking at as I write this. Yes, it is bucketing down. In between the heavy showers it is ok. See Anna’s Island Style for more details.
Hope you have enjoyed ‘Style Not Age’ this month. We are heading off on a river cruise soon, so I will be taking a break from posting. But I will be reporting back on our holiday and you can keep up with me on instagram if you wish.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks Jess.. it is my favourite colour definitely…
You look beautiful in orange. I love the color but, it doesn’t work for my skin tone so I buy it in accessories and in prints. So fun to see all of your friends’ colorful options, too! xo Nipa
