Water Filtration is Vital for Better Health

Wednesday, 04 September 2019 by Hilda
“Water, water everywhere, nor any drop to drink”, Coleridge wrote in ‘The Rime of the Ancient Mariner’. We all know that water is essential for good health.  In fact, it is the single most important substance in relation to our health. Sixty percent of the human body is made up of water, depending on how hydrated

The Quantum Health Analyser – Science or Science Fiction?

Monday, 19 August 2019 by Hilda
The Quantum Health Analyser sounds like something from a Science Fiction movie or TV series.  In fact, it sounds pretty scary. And when my physical therapist Andrew Smith of The Willows Clinic offered me a free analysis, I was unsure at first. You will have read about Andrew in my previous post on STRESS! I

Health Checks for Women Over 50

Monday, 10 June 2019 by Hilda
Most of us tend to avoid doctors and health checks in our younger years unless there is some specific reason to book an appointment. But when we reach 50 or so (and have been lucky enough to stay healthy) it is definitely time to schedule some health checks. Much as we hate to admit it

Top Tips to help improve your Memory

Monday, 22 April 2019 by Hilda
There has been a lot written about memory recently and what we can do to help prevent dementia and maybe even Alzheimer’s so I thought I would re-post this. I waited until after Easter to post because it has been suggested that high sugar diets (as well as being detrimental to overall health) can also

Looking Back on 2018 – A Mix of Good and Bad

Wednesday, 23 January 2019 by Hilda
2018 – what a year! Like most years it had a mixture of bad and good.   GORGEOUS GRAHAM! Health-wise, GG certainly had a mixed year. He had a hip operation in March and while a lot better than he was before the operation, I wouldn’t say that he is back to full mobility yet.

Gift Guide Part 2 – the ‘Smelly Stuff’

‘Frill Seekers’ is the challenge for our ‘Style not Age’ group this month and I must admit that I found it a challenge. When it comes to frills, I am quite muted. Let’s face it, frills add bulk, so they can be difficult to wear. I tend to keep frills to a minimum in a

Nothing beats a facial when you want to feel pampered. Recently, I have had Micro-needling, which while very effective, is certainly not pain-free, and a TriPollar facial, which while not painful could hardly be called pampering.
